Racing the guys from Zelda4/48

So all these speed gamer type dudes don't use any real sequence breaks or speedrunning tricks in general, which is a damn shame.

They are doing a run of OoT, MM, TWW, then TP in that order on Dec 15, starting at 9:00 AM EST

This is super short notice, but I say we livestream runs of our own at the same time they do theirs and race them to completion

Jiano would be up for both MM and TP, possibly OoT too but we'd rather have somebody else stream that
we would basically NEED animeowzers to do TWW for us

OoT maybe Pokey or Runnerguy?
It's like finals week now at most colleges so this kind of sucks

OoT would be from 9AM - 10:30AM, MM from like 10:30AM - 1PM, TWW from 1PM - 8PM, then TP from 8PM - midnight
on december 15th

BTW jiano suggests a name for our group, as the people we are racing are Zelda448
[22:13] <Jiano> zelda420 smoke eyeball frog everyday

should we do this? lol

Jianos name is pro, you guys should use that :)

I can do OOt, MM, or TP. Would prefer just MM though.

I'm up for this shit, high hopes that I don't get interrupted during though.

I'm in.

here is their site
http://zelda448.com/

We need an OoT runner! preferably runnerguy

Pokey for OoT wold probably also be good... he says he can do it, but everytime I ask him if he is sure that he has time he doesn't answer. :(

mzx would be great for TP...

And yeah that name for our marathon kicks ass! ^^

So pokey can't do it because he is uncool and thinks that school is actually important.
Anybody else who can do OoT Any% and can stream it?

Sorry guys, I'd love to do OoT, but I have a final that morning at 10 AM.  :'(

Unless I go sub 1 of course.  ::) But...yeah can't really chance that.

Good luck to those involved. Especially Jiano if he carries the team for 3/4 games.

There are a lot of marathons like this it seems, so I'd be cool to just be known as the guys who come in and kick their asses.

damn

definitely looking like jiano/jiano/ani/jiano now which kinda sucks, idk if we should go through with it, its up to jiano really

lol poor jiano is going to get sucked dry with 3 games.

i might play the games for fun those days but i'm very out of practice with the GC ones so i'd take way too long on them.

I'm in.

I'll be there to watch you. And maybe I'll play WW right along with you.  ;D (without streaming of course..)

OK we just found out they do the games out of order

so RG is back in

We think this is our order (ALL TIMES ARE EST)

Tuesday, December 15

9:00 AM - 5:00 PM
The Wind Waker by AniMeowzers - goal: sub 8 hours

5:00 PM - 10:00 PM
Twilight Princess by Jiano - goal: sub 5 hours

10:00 PM - 11:30 PM
Ocarina of Time by Runnerguy2489 - goal: sub 1:30

11:30 PM - 2:00 AM
Majora's Mask by Jiano (the pro finale) - goal: sub 2:30

Goal: Sub 20 hours
Professional Goal: Sub 16 hours
If we all set world records: Sub 14 hours

Sound good?????

unless maybe MZX is pro at TP enough to do a livestreamed single segment run? IDK
we are shooting for sub 20 so we have like a 4 hour margin of error lol

I HAVE TO WAKE UP AT 7 IN THE MORNING WHAT THE BUTTS

Damn I don't think I'll be able to watch Ani's stream if it's that early :( ( I at least can't play WW then the game will wake people up :( )

just tell logitechSDAZ to do the TP run

I still say, that he's the best TP player and is just to lazy to do a run

I can get a sub 1:30 consistently in OoT, but I can't stream. I'll probably watch though.

Our team site, lol

special thanks to maxx for doing most of the work

Do they know we are racing them?
You guys should record and put it on Youtube iff possible. Cause I have school.

I'd do this but I also have a final on Monday, Tuesday, and I think on Wednesday also.

yeah i'd love to participate but all the slots are already filled :( plus i sux at the any% run and i can't stream anyway so i couldn't participate even if i was good enough :(

if there was an any% non-rba slot though i'd volunteer to fill it almost immediately if it wasn't for the fact that i can't stream 8)

You'd have to buy me a webcam and a new Wii, because my Wii's Disc Drive appears to have died  :'(

And even then, I'm not entirely familiar with dungeon strats past LBT, plus I suck at Freezard skip for early B&C, and I've never tried early Spinner + Boss key. Plus I suck at goat herding and early Gale Boomerang as well.

this is gonna be some seriuz stuffs, can you record it all and put it up on ZSR? I can't watch it live which is such a shame.

I'm going to hit record as well as broadcast, but if my connection times out for whatever reason, I would lose it. This happened twice in the 5 hours or so of the Impromptu I did.

I'm going to do a stream today as well, probably around 7 pm EST on the VC version to see how that goes. Last night I did a test run on N64 V1.1 and did steal epona and had to steal rod again. It's just too risky otherwise to try and do the hookshot bridge clip for something like this.

We need a slogan like, "Zelda 420 smoke bombchus every day." or something like that.

lolwhat Venick. it's already eyeball frogs

in other news, I bought 2 energy drinks for the run. Ani shall have no excuses

I'm imprerssed how determined you all got to make this work. Impressive, in this short time. Yeah Jiano didn't get to practice some stuff much for TP, and then theres Ani, but that why the goal is set for 18, not 15 or so. I'll watch what I can of all this, for sure.
