Help with Megaflips?

So, for about 20 minutes, i recorded myself attempting megaflips.

I only make about 10 (out of 120 attempts). I know that the quality is drop-dead terrible, but its something I guess. If you notice something Im doing wrong, let me know. I'll try doing an emulator version later, but I find it hard to do things on a keyboard...=/

I can't help you with the superslide info (I can't do them no matter how much I try), but here's what I'm using for TASing Megaflips, Z-Slides and A-Slides off a bomb: www.youtube.com/watch?v=6-2nRs2FZQE

For the Megaflip, backflip when the frame arrives where you have to decide what you're going to do next (unlike the slides, I suggest you keep your shield up until your out of the explosion's range).

EDIT: Oh, on console! oops... On console, use the more forgiving shield-drop > immediate neutral roll > immediate backflip setup, and roll so that he will start the roll at the bomb's big blue/ big red frame. hope it helps. I roll at about right before it is about to explode (maybe 5-6 before) so he rolls when it explodes. if you do it right link should make a hurt noise right before he does the megaflip. sorry if I suck at explaining.

EDIT #2: Also, PAL megaflips are different than NTSC (hope I spelled NTSC right) megaflips, and I have US (NTSC) OoT, so my advice might not work well.

In the future, there's a thread you can post in if you're having issues with some tricks.

I didn't watch your whole video, but for most of them it looked like you weren't close enough to the bomb.
Shield drop, roll, backflip puts you the perfect distance away. Just mash A (no control stick) when the bomb explodes, then down + A to backflip.
Timing/distance from the bomb is key, and it varies depending on whether or not your on inclining or declining land. But since you're still learning, flat land will be fine for now.

Yeah, I'm sorta new here, so I didn't know a thread was already made. But, I'll try the shield-drop, roll, backflip method and see if it works. I think I have the TIMING down, just not the difference from the bomb. Also, I didn't expect you to watch the ENTIRE thing, just enough to see what I was doing wrong xD

I think your timing is off because your distance is off. You're too far away from the bomb, so you end up rolling early. Get closer to the bomb and roll later. Link getting hit by the explosion is OK (it shouldn't damage him). Check this out:

Notice how Link doesn't roll until right when the bomb explodes (not before) and how right before backflipping you can see Link getting hit a little by the explosion. You should be able to hear him make a noise in between the roll and backflip.

The spacing isn't very precise, there's a lot of wiggle room. Just get closer and roll later.

I've followed the shielddrop roll backflip advice and I'm succeeding much more. I think I got about 20 megaflops out if 40 attempts. I'm doing much better at it. :) given a bit more practice and I should be able to do I every tine and utilize it in races and stuff

If you do it right, you can let link damage boost back a little bit before the flip. Also, you used the term 'megaflop' wrong; a megaflop is when you're one megaflip away from something in MM and time it wrong so that Link 'flops' forward into the void you were hovering over.
I am pro at megaflops! -_-

It was a typo...but Im amazing at Megaflops too! In MM and in OOT. Just watch the video, its just about full of OOT Megaflops...lol
