Impromptu Speedrunning - Sunday July 11th, 2010

No kidding. Remen said that the goal would be given via a link. Then that was posted. I searched through it for a name... nada. Then the link was given.

Then I read the goal and then re-read it about 5 times trying to get the gist.

Overall there was too much text, a picture showing the full equipment screen + text like this would have been great:

"FILE NAME: grunzftw. The goal is to completely fill the equipment screen (all swords, shields, tunics, boots, a diving scale, bomb bag, a strength upgrade, and either the deku seed bag or quiver). No of the left-side items require uprades. The race ends upon the file name being said by Ganondorf in Ganon's Castle."

i didnt know how to do that so i kinda messed up but this was my first time and ill learn from my mistakes

So i'm guessing by the title that we're impromptuing next week because of the train wreck of last nights...which wasn't that bad :p

Tomorrow will be Majora's Mask and the day after, we will be doing OoT (this sunday)

bonus race tonight at 10 pm EST, get in the IRC channel.

The MM impromptu will be held at 2pm EST tomorrow the 27th. I will be hosting.

Since we seem to be in the habit of doing MM and OoT on the same weekend, and SD2 is hosting MM on Saturday, I decided I wanted to host the one on Sunday. I've got an idea for the goal, so now I just need to work on making a picture.

All we need now is a time. I was thinking 2 PM EST, but at the moment it's open to discussion. What time would work best for most people?

I'd say no on having MM and OoT the same weekend. It only happened once and that was due to an OoT makeup for the one with a bad start, and there was ALTTP scheduled the next week as well.

The reason being, if someone goes away for a weekend or is busy that weekend, they miss both games. By alternating it allows for people to miss one and not have to wait another 2 weeks or whatever to see the next one.

MM this weekend on Saturday
OoT next weekend on Sunday
MM week after that on Sunday
OoT week after that on Saturday

In my opinion that is how it should be done. Each game is played 2 times a month with one on Saturday and one on Sunday.

2 PM PST isn't sounding like a popular opinion. If you can't do it at 11 AM I can make it one hour later (maybe two) but people don't want to do it that late.

I have the time set for 3 PM EST. Since Zero isn't showing up on the IRC, if he doesn't make it it's his loss.

For the future: If you are going to host an impromptu, please test your goal to make sure it is possible.

This Saturday should be the next OoT Impromptu. Do we have a host yet?

The impromptu is going to be at 5:30 EST. Sorry about that but I have to be somewhere. It is Saturday so people shouldn't have problems.

Holy shit man, you're doing so many of these.  Do you not want to participate in any of them?

Anyway, 2 or 3 pm EST usually works best for everyone, but I'm normally not a very good go-to person when it comes to times and dates. :P

2 or 3 EST sounds good to me.

3 EST works better for me personally, but i can do 2 if necessary, OoT this weekend right?

Considering the unanimous support, it's going to be at 3PM EST, unless something dramatic comes along and forces me to move the time.
