yes chimpas, that's the nayru's love method of hess in oot, it's been known for a long time ;)
hey guys, I just found I way to do a Ground Jump and ISG at the same time, video will come soon but this is the description:
?
1.Drop a bomb or step in front of a grabable object (you need a push that way)
2.Hold R AND KEEP IT
3.Take your sword and stab
4.Press A to trigger ISG
5.Just before Link puts the sword away hold L/Z and wait the bomb to explode (or to be pushed away from the object you pulled out the ISG)
Link will keep his shield against the object but still on his knee, just afgter he is pushed step on his feet, and that's all, you triggered an ISG and a ground jump, but you coan keep the ISG as long as you don´t ground jump, because the ISG will go with it, I hope it's new ;D
I hope it's new ;D
Read the first 7 posts on page 4.
This happens to me a lot by accident.
I guess I should write about this in here as well as IRC.
Awhile ago, my friend (Lazybutt) was doing a RBA playthrough of OoT. When going through the mountain to Kakariko he was jumping down this cliff: Original image
Instead of falling down, he angled it a bit to the left so he landed on the seam. The effect of this was that he got a huge boost backwards until he hit the wall. He didn't do a jumpslash or anything, only rolling off the cliff (Possibly running, but I doubt that).
How was this done?
The second thing was done on Majora's Mask, but I'll just write it here instead as it should probably be the same in both.
I tried to learn how to bomb hover, so I picked up a bomb, put it down in the ground, crouch stab and was going to pick it up and shield drop it. Instead, I stabbed and did a backflip, but I still got ISG somehow. I never got hit by anything and I never picked up the bomb. First I thought that I did just that it didn't see notice it, but I had my sword out all the time
My thought was that you could get ISG by cancelling the stab using a backflip. I'm going to try to replicate it today, while recording, but as I'm a huge noob when it comes to this game, I'll probably not succeed.

1) What does that screenshot have to do with RBA? (lol)
2) It seems like you grabbed the bomb and did a shield drop backflip before you lifted it over your head. Considering you were trying to pick it up and shield drop anyway.

1) Nothing at all. The picture was just taken from a YouTube video :P.
2) If I did pick it up, I wouldn't have the sword out afterwards.

I found out you can backflip over the Navi text at the entrance of SFM. Useful if you don't have bombs to store a GJ or something.
That is old maxx. I used that trick on my speedrun long time ago. And yes it's usefull trick indeed!
Still great job for finding it!

I had a video of that Tompa. It's been on my account for like forever.

Hey dudes I got screwed in a race with this glitch what up: http://www.ustream.tv/recorded/6899142/highlight/73204
The sword icon is in the inventory but I cannot equip it. I bought the Giant's Knife and it became equippable(as the Biggoron Sword).

ah yeah, i had that happen to me once. i did the same thing, just bought the giants knife and everything was good again
Klyde found out it happens when you swing sword on the 1st possible frame after you close the textbox
Ringrush requested in the IRC that someone find a way to skip the cutscene for ZL. You can't skip talking to Zelda, but you can skip talking to Impa. I came up with a consistent method using Bombs.
Stand in this position; it's in a space between two bushes (The positioning doesn't need to be exact, but it should be close to what you see in the picture):
Original image
Now use C-up and align your view like this; the point of the Kokiri Sword should be aligned with the break in the texture, exactly like DoT Skip:
Original image
Now sidehop, drop a bomb, and turn towards Impa. You have to run forward at just the right time to kill yourself as you step over the trigger. If you're going to pause buffer dat sheeit, here's the frame to use; once you see this, run forward (this is the first frame that the bomb expands in size):
Original image
Once you die, you respawn at Zelda with the Lullaby in your inventory. If you talk to Impa, she says one thing and then spawns you in Hyrule Field instantly as if you had watched the whole cutscene; this saves about two and a half minutes. Right now, I can only get this trick consistent with Bombs, but I hope to find a Bombchu method, and some TASer will probably find a way to do this with the bomb that the guard throws when you shoot the window.
Edit: I just did the glitch with Bombchus. I'll come up with a pause buffer method later, but basically, you get the same positioning as with a Bomb; take a chu out, and then run towards Impa right when it's about to explode over your head.

I messed with it a bit and found I can get it consistently with a backflip shield drop bombchu.
is there a vid of the cutscene skip anywhere?
There is now: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FzGnxczT_5A
I think I found better way to do this stuff. Or it depends do you think is this easier than your method :)

Ok so... In a race earlier today, I went and got blue fire from Ice Cavern and savewarped back to Temple of Time. I went back to Zora's Domain to get Zora Tunic and King Zora wasn't frozen. I still had blue fire in my inventory so I obviously didn't use it. He jusst said "I'm alive yada yada take this dress." Any ideas why?
I have researched this matter thoroughly, and concluded that the only possible way this could have come to pass is via gameshark codes. :P

I swear that has happened to me too. Can't remember if it was during a race or not, but I remember thinking, I had planned to unfreeze him and when I went to see him he was already unfrozen and I had an extra blue fire.
Ok so...in a race earlier today, I hit the Goron rolling around with a bomb flower to get Goron Tunic. He only said one box of text (I forget what it was) and when he sat up, I wasn't able to speak to him. The action would not appear on the A button. I tried backing away so he would curl up, then talking to him again and it didn't work. I had to leave Goron City and come back, then blow him up again to get him to talk to me.

I've seen that happen to Pokey and Runnerguy in races.
Skip King Zora with a buffered chu megasidehop
Not huge, but could come in handy in races where getting bombs as an adult would save time and you need something in the fountain.
